President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation in 1962 which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day. The week this date falls in is National Police Week. We gratefully honor over one million men and women who have chosen to make law enforcement their career and who faithfully serve their communities and the citizens of the United States. Visit National Police Week website for more information.
We also pause to pay tribute to those men, women, and canine officers who made the ultimate sacrifice protecting us. As of today, there are 21,541 names engraved on the walls of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. Please join us in recognizing those who have served and continue to serve! Happy 2018 National Police Week!!!!
